Venice Civil Weddings
About civil weddings in Venice
Civil wedding ceremonies in the city of Venice are performed all year round, during the whole week, morning and afternoon, except festivities. Civil ceremonies are performed in Italian and translated into English by an English speaking interpreter. The ceremony lasts approximately 20 minutes and can be enriched with personal vows, readings, poems and classical music. There are no formalities requested by the authorities before the ceremony therefore there is no need to show up at the Town hall before the day of the ceremony. Your exact itinerary will depend on your citizenship and the documents you need to provide to get legally married, of course our wedding planners will guide you every step of the way.
Venue description
Civil ceremonies in Venice are performed every day of the week in a simple yet elegantly furnished room on the Piano Nobile of an historical Palace whose entrance is right on the Grand Canal. The name of this Palace is Palazzo Cavalli that is a XVI century Renaissance building.
The marriage hall can accommodate up to 70 guests. The hall is full of light with splendid large windows overlooking the Grand Canal that provide a magnificent panorama. Inside this enchanting hall it is possible to admire a wonderful painting entitled "The Golden Wedding" work of the famous Venetian artist Luigi Nono.
A lovely adjoining smaller room, finely decorated and enriched with period furniture is available for very small weddings, from this smaller hall you can enjoy an extraordinary view of Rialto's bridge. Getting married at Palazzo Cavalli means marrying in a very important Venetian Palace and one of the most dramatic locations of Italy.
