La Tonnara di Scopello was a tuna fishery in operation from the 13th century until its closure in 1984. It is located in Sicily’s northwest corner, in a small bay not far from the town Castellammare del Golfo. This is one of Sicily’s most dramatic, striking and varied stretches of coastline.

La Tonnara is a little harmonious borgo, an impressive sight that appeared in several movies and TV programs in recent years. Because of its position seafront you can admire the fluorescent blue waters and the dramatic rock formations capped by a medieval tower, definitely worth a visit.

Wedding ceremony and reception

La Tonnara di Scopello is a truly unique location for a glamorous wedding where guests will enjoy finest organic Sicilian food & wine, local and international music immersed in tradition, history and exceptional flavors.

Symbolic Wedding ceremonies can be organized at La Tonnara, while Catholic weddings can be organized in an outdoor church located at a few minutes distance by car.

Cocktail hour is generally organized in the large square by the sea, sit down dinner in the Baglio, which is the elegant court with sea view and then cutting of the cake and dancing in the terrace. No restrictions for dancing till late hours.

14 apartments are available on site that can accommodate up to 50 guests. Several hotels are available nearby in Castellammare or Scopello town.
