The romantic and fascinating Castle of Tornano is located a few kilometers out of the town called Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico Region, approx 20 km from Siena and approx 50 from Florence. The castle was established in the Chianti Classico region over a thousand years ago and has been the setting for many festivals and celebrations since.
Venue description
The undulating hills of the beautiful Tuscan countryside sweetly surround this beautiful castle with a really nice interior where elegant bedrooms and luxury suites welcome newlyweds and their family and friends. Castello di Tornano is a high and imposing edifice with a trapezoidal base and several arched openings.
Couples who think about their wedding as a romantic escape from the daily routines, find full satisfaction in this comfortable Castle that has been carefully restored and has now a lovely pool, where silence and relax are second to none. From the top of the tower, a solarium terrace offers another pleasant moment and a gorgeous view of the Tuscan countryside. The pool along with the hiking trails, the tennis court, and horseback riding activities not far from the castle offers some additional leisure to active guests.
Wedding ceremony and banquet
Symbolic and Protestant weddings can take place in the garden of the Castle or in the private chapel. The aperitif can follow outdoors and for dinner there is a lovely Veranda suitable to max 70 guests. Three connected Lounges can host max 72 guests. For lovers of outdoor settings dinner can take place in the garden for max 130 guests but in this case the rental of a gazebo is highly recommended.
Welcome dinners, BBQ, midnight buffets and brunches can be organized at the Castle. Dance music is allowed if the group has the exclusive use of the Castle, otherwise soft music is allowed only.
Accommodations
The Castle of Tornano has 11 double rooms (6 in the castle and 4 in the tower), plus an independent house with 7 apartments, for a total occupancy of 54 people. The apartments are rented in self catering.
All the bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, tv, minibar and phone.
