One of the most well-known Villas on Lake Como, the majestic Villa Sola Cabiati was the summer residence of the Serbelloni Dukes and dates back to the 1500s. It is also considered one of the most elegant Villas in Italy. Villa Sola Cabiati, located on the western shore of Lake Como, is a refined example of Baroque architecture. It was refurbished yet retains the original furniture, frescoed ceilings, damask-covered walls and large living rooms of timeless elegance. Tucked away in a secluded corner is the private pool to make a sojourn in the villa even more pleasant and relaxing.
Just imagine arriving from the lake onboard a water taxi, walking past the double staircase and the iron-wrought gates, along the perfectly curated Italian gardens with their arabesques. The main door opens to welcome you in a magnificent hall, where candles light up the spectacular frescoed ceiling. Room after room, a treasury of stuccos, frescoes, paintings, and vintage furniture unfolds before your eyes in a palette of pastel colors matching the hues of the lake and gardens that can be seen from every room.
Villa Sola Cabiati is within walking distance to the town of Tremezzo. Across the lake from the Villa, at only 10 minutes’ boat, is the renowned town of Bellagio.
Villa Sola Cabiati wedding: ceremony and reception
Villa Sola Cabiati is the ideal location for a luxurious holiday or special celebration. Guests will live and breathe history and art. It is necessary to book all rooms and there is a max number of guests allowed for an event: 70 guests.
Ceremony and cocktails are generally organized in the Italian Garden and the pool garden. For a formal reception, it is possible to use the halls of the villa or outdoors by the façade of the Villa. Soft music is allowed throughout the event.
Accommodation
The Villa has six beautiful patrician Suites with lake view and en-suite bathrooms, all restored with the family’s original furniture. Suites are also equipped with modern technology and comforts and can accommodate up to 12 guests plus 2 kids up to 12 years.
