The Grand Hotel Timeo is located in one of the prettiest towns in Sicily: Taormina, a one-hour drive from Catania airport.

Get ready to leave your heart in Sicily! Grand Hotel Timeo was the first hotel built in the town in 1873 and it soon became the preferred holiday destination of European aristocracy. It is set a few steps from the magnificent Greek Theatre, in a six-acre tropical garden filled with olives, lemon and cypress trees, cacti, magnolias and pergolas laden with wisteria, gardens of roses and orange blossom. The vista of Mount Etna is phenomenal.

During the sunset the sky is purple and the view of the volcano from the restaurants and private terraces, while you sip a glass of Etna sparkling wine, is unbeatable. The heated panoramic swimming pool is surrounded by trees, jasmine and wildflowers and, for lovers of fitness, there is also a panoramic gym with modern equipment and a wellness center.

The hotel’s guests can enjoy the facilities of a sister property: the Villa St Andrea and its private beach with luxury cabanas, connected to the Grand Hotel Timeo with a complimentary shuttle service.

Wedding ceremony and reception

This sublime hotel is perfect for wedding ceremonies and reception thanks to the palatial ballrooms and outdoor terraces boasting different views of the Greek Theatre, Mount Etna and Bay of Naxos.

Civil and Catholic wedding ceremonies are organized in town while symbolic ceremonies are allowed on the hotel’s premises and this is the preferred option for couples wanting to enjoy the whole wedding day in the same venue.

Outdoor symbolic ceremonies are celebrated on the Ganimede Terrace with panoramic views of Mount Etna which has a surface suitable to groups of max 150 guests for a ceremony or for a cocktail. This terrace is half lawn, half paved. Groups of max 60 guests can use the lawn for the ceremony and the other half for the cocktail hour.

The most recommended area for a Gala dinner is certainly the Afrodite Hall that has a capacity of max 150 guests on round tables and is connected to the Afrodite Terrace that has the same capacity and gives you the option of staying indoors or outdoors according to couple’s preferences or weather. From the Ganimede terrace, it is possible to walk down to the Afrodite terrace from the outdoors or by lifts.

Very small groups can find an intimate atmosphere in two private halls: Efesto hall for 30 guests and Athena hall for 20 guests.

On the lower level of the hotel the Zeus hall, with a capacity of 150 guests offers the best atmosphere for after-dinner parties with dance music till 02:00 am.

The ideal number of guests for a wedding event at the Grand Hotel Timeo ranges from 80 to 120.

The Hotel’s Restaurant will take guests on a remarkable culinary journey through local specialties, their chefs love to customize their menus to create real masterpieces. Aperitifs include a variety of sparkling, white and red Sicilian wines, different alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails along with a delicious selection of battered fritters, classic delicacies, spoon canapes, finger food and fish specialties, a delight to the palate. Menus include a starter, the first course with Risotto or Ravioli and two mains of fish or meat. Dinner ends with a tasting of the unique typical desserts such as cassata and cannolo and cinnamon ice cream.

Accommodations

71 beautiful double rooms can accommodate groups of 170 guests. Specifically, there are 26 suites from 35 to 98sqm and 45 luxury rooms from 20 to 50sqm. Exclusive use of the hotel is available at exceptional rates in March, April and from October till January. A complimentary sea view room for the bride and groom on their wedding night is included in the cost of an event with a minimum of 50 guests attending.

On the top floor of the Timeo, their Presidential Suite with two generous bedrooms, two spacious marble bathrooms and a refined living room represents the height of indulgence. Its 300 sqm terrace with a 180-degree view is an outdoor space that can be used for a really exclusive party.
